Although Sundays Well Swimming Club is a competitive swimming club, we are also a teaching club, to the extent that L-plate swimmers and improvers make up the majority of the club membership.
All club members, whether individual or family, can avail of these services, be it as a complete non-swimmer or as an improver. The minimum age at which teaching can commence is 5 years old. For adults wishing to learn to swim, a teacher and pool space is available during the Masters section pool time on Tuesday and Thursday nights from 8:50pm to 9:40pm.
For those swimmers who attain a certain level of competency at the swimming strokes, progression to competitive swimming can follow if desired, subject to invitation by the competitive coaching staff. Beginners and improvers are constantly monitored by coaching staff for this purpose. The club draws from our very strong teaching base to feed the competitive swimming squads.
All teaching is performed by qualified and certificated Teachers and Assistant Teachers. The club invests heavily in our teaching and coaching staff to provide quality services to our members, and to ensure a safe and productive learning environment.
Swimming with Sundays Well SC remains ridiculously cheap. This is possible because we are a purely amateur club and there is NO profit. All teachers, coaches, committee, helpers and administrative personnel offer all of their services on a voluntary basis only. There is no payroll. This makes Sundays Well a unique swimming club in this country as it is the only such club which operates in this way.
Children attending any learner or improver sessions pay € 4.00 per session.
Adults attending any Masters session pay € 5.00 per session.

In both 2003, 2004 and 2005 Sundays Well SC conducted a swimming awards scheme between February and June. This was very kindly sponsored by Acorn Life. The scheme involved teaching and practicing a range of swimmer competencies devised by the Swimming Teachers Association (STA) of Great Britain. The swimmers' competencies were tested on completion of at least 10 lessons, at the end of which the swimmers are awarded their certificates and badges.
SWSC held their first swim school during Easter of 2003. The sessions were conducted on the Wednesday, Thursday and Friday mornings after Easter Sunday. Sessions were tailored to swimmer abilities, and teacher to pupil ratios were limited at 5 pupils per teacher. This concentrated lesson format provided significant swimmer improvement over the three days.
